“Healthy Start for MoM equals Healthy Baby”

Everything you come in to contact with or inhale while pregnant will be passed to your baby while pregnant.

Many women don’t realize this, but this happens the moment you conceive, which is unfair, because many of us don’t know the exact moment when we do conceive. As women we should be mindful of our little monthly we have every month. Your baby is most vulnerable during the first two months in the womb, and this is the time when the major body parts form like the arms, legs, hands, feet, liver, heart, genitalia, eyes, and the brain. So, even if you didn’t find out you are pregnant until 4-6 weeks after your last menstrual, you may be okay, but it is best to check with a doctor. From personally experience I found out when I was pregnant 6 weeks after I conceived. Everything was fine for me, and that is, because I am not a drinker, I don’t smoke, I don’t take any medications, and I’m not a sickly individual.

Don’t get me wrong non of theses things are bad, but if you do have sex whether it’s protected or unprotected there is risk of being pregnant.

You should always take the responsibility and own it, if you feel you may be pregnant. What this means is if you think you are don’t put harmful things in your body. Wait until you are sure you are not before you pick up your habits again.

“How Do I Choose a Pediatrician for My Baby?”

When choosing a pediatrician for your baby, remember you have several options. You should shop around for a pediatrician, and this experience should be pleasant, comfortable, and be a success. The best time to look for a pediatrician is before the baby is born. You can interview different pediatricians in your area, or have your obstetrician refer you to one.

After, you have chosen a pediatrician, make sure they are able to be at the hospital when your newborn arrives so they can give your baby their very first exam. Letting the hospital staff examine your baby is great too, but a pediatrician specializes in caring for newborns.

When you first are admitted to the hospital, your nurse should ask you who your baby’s pediatrician is going to be. The nurse should then call the pediatrician as soon as your baby is born. When the baby is born, if you had any complications during the deliver process your baby’s pediatrician should examine the baby right away, but if not this process will happen in the next 24 hours. During the examination process ask the pediatrician if you can be apart of this process to ask questions, if not ask them can they come back and follow up with you.

Before, you leave the hospital the pediatrician should follow up with you about the baby’s examine and when the very first office visit should be.
